The Mornington Rose is an elegant, beautifully restored Victorian home built in 1905, with all of the charm of that era. Classic taste and inviting furnishings blend with a contemporary bright, airy atmosphere to create a fresh, but still traditional look. The wonderful wrap-around verandah invites guests to linger and relax during the hot, hazy days of summer. The sound of trickling water will beckon you to sit by the pond or in the gazebo to enjoy the peace and stillness of the garden, away from life’s hustle and bustle. Listen for the songs of our resident birds and capture the sweet drift of scent on the breeze.
Enjoy a scrumptious full traditional breakfast served in our elegant dining room.
The Rose has ample parking on site.

ROOMS & AMENITIES
The Mornington Rose features four well-appointed bedrooms, complete with fine imported bedding, hypo-allergenic pillows and crisp Egyptian cotton linen.
Each room has air conditioning for your summer comfort, and a sitting area with comfortable chairs for relaxing, reading or sharing a glass of wine.
All have ensuite bathrooms, with luxurious towels and natural goat’s milk toiletries.
All bedrooms are on the second floor and are smoke-free.
The Ebony Rose Room features a comfortable queen-size bed with a dramatic black headboard and couture and Eiffel Tower prints, giving a distinctly Parisian feeling. It has an ensuite three-piece bathroom, a sitting area in the box bay window, and a private balcony with a Bistro set for two and wrought iron window boxes bursting with geraniums.
The Rose Suite features a mahogany queen-size bed four poster bed, with Williamsburg furniture and an English rose border. Walk through to the cozy sitting room with its comfortable armchair and sofa for lounging, reading or cuddling. A three-piece bathroom with a shower completes the suite.
The Ivory Rose Room has comfy extra-long twin beds, a small sitting area, and a large bright four-piece ensuite bath with a soaker tub and shower. Walk outside to your furnished balcony roof garden, enjoy the oleanders and flowering planters and let the cares of the day ebb away.........
The Champagne Rose Room features a comfy queen-sized bed, an elegantly furnished sitting area, and a large window with a wonderful view of the garden. The four-piece ensuite bathroom is bright and airy, with a separate shower, and an air-massage tub just made for lots of bubbles. Guests are welcome to enjoy the lounge and dining room at any time. Settle down with a good book, enjoy quiet conversation with friends, or relax amid the pillows on the window seat and enjoy the sunshine. Tea and coffee is always available and are complimented by Murray’s fresh, delicious homemade cookies.

The central service area has a hot/cold water dispenser, a kettle, an ice bucket and a bar fridge for guests' convenience. Guests can enjoy complimentary coffee and tea, soft drinks and flavoured water, and Murray’s famous chocolate chip cookies.
We reside in Harriet's (our cat's) part of the house which is separate from the guest areas. She would prefer that you do not bring another pet into the house.
BREAKFAST
Join us in our dining room for a silver service breakfast.
Coffee and juice will be ready at 8:00 a.m., for those who like to enjoy their coffee and newspaper at their leisure.
At 9:00 a.m., a selection of fruit, yogurt, granola, baking and home-made preserves will be served, followed by a variety of hot entrees. Chef’s choice could be strata, quiche, fruited pancakes or crepes, Eggs Benedict or Florentine, french toast, filled omelets, or dressed up scrambled eggs. Then add a variety of meat, vegetables and edible flowers for garnish.

Ebony, Ivory, and Champagne Rose Rooms: $135.00 / night
Rose Suite: $145.00 / night
Rates are in Canadian funds and are subject to PST and GST.
Payment can be made by cash, debit card, Visa, or Mastercard.
We offer reduced rates during the off- season and we are open all year. Please note that we may be unavailable in some periods of the off-season.
POLICIES
Check in time: 4:00 p.m. or at an alternate time by prior arrangement.
Please let us know your time of arrival.
Check out time: 11:00 a.m.
Early Check in option: Your room may not be available until 4 p.m. , however, you may leave your bags and we will take them to your room when it is ready.
Cancellation: If you need to cancel your reservation thirty days in advance, no charges will apply. Within thirty days we will do all we can to rebook the room. If we are successful, there will be no charge, but any rooms we are unable to rebook will be charged the full amount.
